One of the most crucial assets is an own vehicle. To purchase a vehicle, you must make a specific financial contribution. To make sure the car you are buying is trustworthy and safe, purchasing a used car necessitates thorough research and background checks. Therefore you may research the automobile's accident history online before you finalize the agreement to buy a used car.

When purchasing a used car in the UAE, it is necessary that you investigate the vehicle's history. A history check tells a lot about the past of the car, including any incidents of fraud, theft, tampering, or accidents. Also, you can confirm that all the necessary components are true originals.

Why it is Important to Look at the History of Vehicle Accidents?

When buying a used car in the UAE, the accident history of the vehicle is taken into consideration. Accident-damaged vehicles frequently have visible, unseen, or enduring damage that might threaten the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and passengers on the road. So, it is necessary to look into the vehicle's past and conduct a background check.

How to Research a Vehicle Accident History?

You must have the chassis number, commonly known as the Vehicle Identification Number, in order to verify the history (VIN). This unique 17-digit number identifies the car's manufacturer, place of origin, engine details, and accident history.

These are the four official websites where you can research history:

Ministry of Interior (MOI)

Emirates Vehicle Gate (EVG)

Abu Dhabi Police

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)

Ministry of Interior (MOI)

The steps to check a vehicle's history through the Ministry of Interior (MOI) are as follows:

First, locate your vehicle's chassis number.

Go go to https://www.moi.gov.ae/, which is the MOI website. Next select "E-Services."

When you get to the page, select traffic and licensing from the drop-down menu and then accident inquiry.

Enter your chassis number.

The results will appear after clicking submit. The website displays the location, date, and time of any accidents as well as the accident report number.

Emirates Vehicle Gate (EVG)

With the help of Emirates Vehicle Gate (EVG), you can quickly examine a vehicle's accident history.

Check out this website at https://evg.ae/ layouts/evg/trafficaccidents.aspx?language=en.

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)

The RTA department in the UAE offers a service called "Technical Vehicle Status Certificate" that allows you to obtain a certificate that describes the car insurance online status, its validity, its condition at the time of inspection, its owner history, etc. There is a certificate fee of AED100, plus an innovation fee of AED20.

RTA takes a little longer than other platforms to deliver information. Due to the fact that you only get the data if the prior owner gives their consent to sharing it, you receive an OTP for their approval.

Wrap Up

If you want to buy a car in the UAE, you must analyze the history of vehicle accidents and request certificates. Even if they appear repetitive or unnecessary, avoiding these steps might not be a smart idea. You wouldn't want to experience significant troubles in the long run. In purchasing a secondhand car, you would feel at ease and at peace if you had the necessary official paperwork.
