 In a recent survey conducted in Dubai, the zones surrounding the school areas have seen a rapid drop in traffic accidents by 78% and criminal accidents by 33%.

Much of this accomplishment has been achieved thanks to the efforts laid by Dubai Police Schools Security initiative. According to this initiative, the police force has partnered with the educational sectors to provide better quality security services.

As stated by Brigadier Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman, the Director of As Rashidiya Police Station and Head of Schools Security, the aim of the initiative are the following:

- To amplify the traffic security surrounding the school areas.

- To educate the children regarding criminal and health awareness.

- To educate the children regarding their rights and duties in becoming ideal citizens for their nation and communities

Another purpose of this initiative is to consolidate the concept of community police to every student and their parents.

Brig. Sulaiman further stated that during last year, there were 12 criminal reports and 9 traffic violation reports that were submitted via electronic processes as the schools in Emirates were switching towards distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Milestone Achieved: 132,000 people

Brig. Sulaiman further explained the fact that they also partnered with a few more strategic organisations to help carry out a set of 81 events and programmes that has since then benefitted more than 132,000 people.

Out of these 81 events, 23 were conducted during the COVUD-19 outbreak and has helped to raise awareness of around 83,571 students regarding the safety measures to take in order to prevent further outbreak of the new coronavirus.
