The UAE police have announced an opportunity for motorists in Sharjah! Now pay a lesser charge for your traffic violations. Sharjah Police General Command has declared a 50% discount on traffic fines levied in the emirate in honor of the UAE's 51st National Day. The offer date starts on December 1, 2022, and runs until January 20, 2023, for a total of 51 days. All fines levied before December 1 will be reduced under this offer.

Aggravated traffic offenses are not eligible for the discount. The MOI UAE and Sharjah Police apps, as well as police stations throughout the emirate, are accepting payments to use the offer. They have urged vehicle owners and drivers to take advantage of this offer and make a profit over the accumulated fines.

Goal to ease the financial burden

Police departments in the emirates often launch campaigns and do promotions that provide big relief in the form of discounts to drivers who have accrued traffic fines. Sharjah's police department has joined those in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Abu Dhabi in granting early payment discounts on traffic fines of up to 50%.

The commander-in-chief of the Sharjah Police, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, stated that the police have taken the necessary steps to carry out the decision promptly and complete it on time. Al Shamsi also reaffirmed the Sharjah Police's hard work to support all missions initiated by the government to offer all services to citizens, with a focus on easing financial burdens and giving community members the chance to resolve their legal issues. Drivers should obey the law, he added, by mentioning that penalties for breaking the law increase people's financial burdens.
