The Abu Dhabi Police Department has taken strict initiatives in order to avert accidents and safeguard the public welfare. The Department declared that a Dh800 fine and four black points will be imposed on the motorists who are being careless and inattentive while driving.

The Police Department also shared footage of an accident on social media, in which the driver got distracted while driving. The white car in the video shared by the Abu Dhabi police is on the verge of crashing with a minivan in front of it, and the car spins rapidly away from the accident and crashes into the roadside barrier.

According to records, almost 27,000 drivers were fined for distracted driving in the first six months of the year. As stated by the Abu Dhabi Police, careless driving is one of the leading causes of traffic accidents in the UAE. Taking calls, checking messages, or frequently looking around to talk to the passengers onboard can be considered as a few of the reasons to be distracted while driving. The drivers who are found careless while driving will have to pay a fine of Dh800 and will be imposed four black points, which can adversely affect their license.

The Police Department emphasized the significance of being focused while driving and mentions the recoils of the same.
