A major Dubai road building project that will open to the general public on Tuesday will more than double traffic effectiveness and enhance access to a network of renowned desert sites. The Saih Al-Dahal Road Improvement Project will connect with entry points to the Al Qudra lakes, a cluster of man-made beauty spots that includes the heart-shaped Love Lake, Swan Lake, and Flamingo Lake. A single-lane road that served the region has been replaced by an 11-kilometer dual motorway with two lanes in each direction, a central reservation, and three traffic circles to improve traffic flow.

This will enhance traffic capacity from 1,800 to 4,000 km/h in both directions.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park will be connected to Saih Al-Salam Road via the reconstructed route. It's the latest step in a comprehensive plan by transportation authorities to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, and promote the area's appeal as a tourist destination. The Love Lake in the Al Qudra desert is designed like two interlocking love hearts, with trees placed alongside the water to spell out the word "love."
