Recently the Dubai Police has taken an initiative that enables the people to facilitate traffic fines in installments. This is achieved through the police’s smart application on smartphones. As stated by the Major General Al Salal Saeed Bin Huwaidi Al Falasi, the assistant commander-in-chief for administration affairs, customers will be able to pay their traffic fines in installments through the 100 percent automated smart service. This service will be available round the clock for better accessibility.

He further added that the initiative was taken to collaborate with the Central Bank of USE and the Dubai Islamic Bank. It was also noted that this smart service was made in line with Dubai Government’s strategy to offer happiness to their customers. This means that a vehicle owner or the driver will pay the fines through the bank. The bank won’t have to hold any charge of interest; instead, break the installments into a smaller amount payable over a specific time frame.

How will this initiative be set into action?

According to Captain Hussain Al Abdooli, the director of the Traffic Fines Collection Section of Dubai Police, the customers will be able to log into the service of traffic fines payment. They can decide upon which installment option they want. However, the customers should keep in mind that they are needed to agree to some of the conditions and fill up a form with their details before they opt to proceed with this method. Once the document gets filled and sent, The request is then forwarded to the Central Bank for their approval before the installment for the number of accumulated traffic fines is arrived at. The amount of installment is then deducted from the customer’s bank account every month.
