With the ongoing global pandemic of COVID-19 taking its grip over the world, various countries have specific measures to counter it. The UAE Ministry Of Interior took one such step. According to the recent announcement made by them, they have come with a more affordable way for UAE drivers to pay their traffic fines without any interest. The ministry stated this on Tuesday.

According to this law, drivers can now pay their traffic fines under a 0% interest installment plan while driving on the roads of UAE. Presently, only four local banks are serving this 0% interest installment plan.

According to the ministry, it is being stated that four national banks took this joint decision. “The Ministry Of Interior signed a memorandum of understanding with four national banks for the installment of traffic fines without the need for any interest,” as stated by the ministry. This initiative was taken, reflecting the ministry’s eagerness to help improve the transportation services for their people. They further said, “This was a strategic vision taken by the ministry to help promote the quality of life within the community as well as reflect steps taken by the ministry to improve their services for promoting customer happiness.”

The four banks currently undertaking this initiative are – First Abu Dhabi Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Emirates Islamic, and RAK Bank.
