The National Health Insurance Company - Daman has declared free healthcare covers for victims under  Ewaa. This comes into action after Daman and the Abu Dhabi Centre for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care-Ewaa, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Ewaa provides care, rehabilitation, and vocational programs to victims of human trafficking and domestic violence.

"This MoU is the conclusion of our lengthy cooperation with Daman, which has created a significant effect on changing beneficiaries from victims to empowered citizens in their communities," said Her Excellency Sarah Suhail, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Centre for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care - Ewaa. We have seen how Daman enhances the Center's principles throughout the years, which helps us make sure that our beneficiaries ensure the highest levels of privacy and empowerment.

The Center's strategic objectives are centered on creating a network of complementary services with local, national, regional, and international partners to offer integrated and sustainable services that meet the highest standards of care and empower victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse. The provision of healthcare, in which Daman plays a crucial part, is a very critical aspect throughout a victim's psychological and social rehabilitation process because of the nature of the Center's work and the cases it gets, she continued.

"Signing this MoU demonstrates our efforts towards delivering quality healthcare coverage at the highest standards for our members across the nation," said Hamad Al Mehyas, CEO of the National Health Insurance Company - Daman. The contract complies with our social responsibility commitment as a business to aid in ensuring universal access to healthcare.

"We are proud of our connection with Ewaa, which began in 2014, and the work we accomplished together to assist our society's most vulnerable members."
